Roll Off Dumpster Concerns First-Time Renters May Have

Blog

When you are needing to have a large amount of debris removed from your property, a roll off dumpster may be one of the more efficient ways of handling this need. Yet, these dumpsters are something that you may not have needed in the past, which can cause you to be unsure of what to expect from this rental. Once you have these two questions addressed, you should have a better idea of what this rental process will entail.

Are Permits Required For Having A Roll Off Dumpster?

Depending on where you will be placing the roll off dumpster, it may be necessary to secure a permit for it. In instances where the dumpster will be entirely on private property, a permit is usually not required. However, if you will be parking the dumpster on a public road or property, permits will probably be required.

During the permitting process, you will be required to file documents that clearly state the purpose of the dumpster, how long it will be there and the party responsible for the dumpster. Once these documents have been filed, you will need to pay the permit fee before you are given the approval documents and sticker. You will need to place this sticker on the dumpster and have a copy of the approval paperwork at the site at all times in case of a surprise inspection.

Are There Materials That Can Not Be Put In The Dumpster?

It should be noted that there are many items that may not be suitable for being thrown away using a roll off dumpster. Often, these items will contain toxic materials that can not be taken to the local dump or transported in an open air container. An example of items that may not be accepted by the local landfill would be electronics that contain lithium ion batteries.

The items that are banned from these dumpsters will vary according to the local laws and regulations. When you rent these dumpsters, you will be provided with a list of banned items. Violating these rules can make you liable for expensive fines, penalties and possibly criminal charges, which means you should take these rules very seriously.

Using a roll off dumpster may be the only practical way for you to handle the amount of trash or debris that is going to be generated by your project. If you are needing a roll off dumpster, it is important to know whether or not you will be required to purchase a permit for it and the items that can not be placed in it. Knowing these two pieces of information will help you avoid accidentally breaking the law and being fined. For more information, talk to a professional like Tajiri Demolition & Disposal LLC.

eliminating garbage and unused items from the home

I am a little embarrassed to admit that my mother is a serious hoarder. Thirty years ago, my parents bought an old 6 bedroom farm house. The previous owner was ill, so there was a lot of stuff left behind. I think that those things being left behind kind of started the whole hoarding thing for my mother. She found a lot of things that she really liked and held onto them. By the time my 5 siblings and I grew up and moved out, my parent's house was down to one bedroom that was still usable. My mother inspired my blog about eliminating garbage and unused items from the home.
